Ok, pretend it was in 50 at bats. No more hits. They're still hitting .300

Absolutely worse than Parra. Have seen Duke several times here in DC. Hit hard repeatedly. The Nats decimated good lefty pitching in the pen last year and started the year with just Duke as the sole lefty. I was delighted the Nats finally let him go (his record last few years was pretty lackluster) until I saw he'd landed in Louisville. Will be very concerned if he ever gets called up.

    Re: Reds sign Zach Duke

When the Reds signed Parra in the offseason, I thought it was a mediocre sign. I'm afraid I overestimated Parra. Recently I found something disturbing: of all qualifying pitchers since 1900, Parra has the highest career babip.

While babip tends to fluctuate due to luck and defense, the guys on the high and low end career-wise tend to belong where they are. And Parra's babip is historically bad.

To give this a little perspective, Glendon Rusch is tenth.

Not that I want to see Duke in a Reds uniform, but it's really hard to be worse than Parra.

Then again, he is 16th, so with luck thrown in, there isn't much difference.

Oliver Perez is the M's closer right now

Francisco Liriano is pitching very well as a starter for the Pirates

    Zach Duke? You never know.
