Tom Browning is Ron Gardenhire now.
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

They are going to be much better later in the year. Granted that isn't saying much. Actually kind of glad we got the 7 games out of the way early this year due to MLB's inane scheduling pattern.

Cozart with the anti-dat dude hustle to beat out a slow chopper to third.

I agree. The record may not show it yet, but they're MUCH better than the Astros.
    2014 predictions:
99-63 WS champs (Cards take 2nd WC, Mil 3rd, Pit 4th, Chi 5th)
Bruce/Votto neck and neck MVP race (neither takes it)
    Bailey CYA winner
    Hamilton ROY & GG

When you're hitting .390, that's going to happen.

7-6 now. Are both teams using little league pitchers?!?

Looked high, but Joey probably should have just fouled it off to be safe.

Wow -- just walked in - flipped on the TV to see Votto rung up on what I thought was ball four -- what did we do to honk off the ump?
The older I get - the better I was

and yes - I hate the Cardinals (Reds fan since 1958)

Must be an all you can eat ribs special that ends shortly somewhere, 'cause Joe West is making sure this is a quick game. He started the game early, and that was just a horrible call in Votto. Both high and inside by a lot.

Now that was a cool headline top page fold from the Philly paper in June, 1930. Bobby Jones wins the US Amateur to complete the grand slam and Babe Ruth hits 2 HRs to beat the Philadelphia A's...
