Reds are five games up in the WC race. Not too bad considering all the adversity they have faced to this point.
Indeed. NL Central is a tough division this year!

Cards vs Padres, Cards up by two. Interestingly enough Westbrook is 2 for 2 and scored both runs. Who does he think he is? Travis Wood?

Philly leaps Washington in the standings (for now) and is now our "closest" WC competitor.

Meaningless, but still noteworthy. Good thing the Nationals sat Strasburg in the playoffs last year for their years of future contending..

“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Bedard pitches 6 and a third, allowed no hits and lost the game.

    Only the Astros.

If only the Reds had listened to local genius Paul Daugherty Bedard would be in a Reds uniform, and the Reds also would not have been burdened these last several seasons by Votto, Cueto and Bailey.

It's only been a few years since the Natinals.

Also interesting to note that it was Bedard that removed himself from the game with the no-hitter. He said he would not go over 110 pitches.
