That's probably going to be his last start of the season, right?

Wainwright needs to pitch a shutout from here on. I think Cards bats shot their wad in the 1st.

Sorry, can't do it. Simply can't root for the Cards, no matter how logical it is.

You're looking at it wrong. You root for the Pirates to lose. Just like if it's the Cubs against the Cards...you don't root FOR the Cubs...just for the Cards to lose. All in the matter of your perspective.

I agree with almost all of this, but I have to take issue with one comment. LaRue was crippled by age and ineffectiveness long before any injury he may (or may not) have suffered in the infamous brawl on August 9, 2010. He had been a walking, talking concussion for years (we should know--he was our starting C for most of them), and probably had no business being anywhere near an athletic field based on what we now know about concussions only three years later.

of course Cincinnati has it's share of interesting looking people at the game, but I just had to grab a screengrab of the Pittsburgh overalls/hat guy.

We still have games to make up on the front runner. That's Pittsburgh. Plus, as my son noted, we don't want to get get the Cards this weekend coming in from a long losing streak. They win tonight and tomorrow, we pick up a game and a half. Don't be squeamish about this. Hold your nose and root for us to make some gain in the standings.m

Pitt gets a bad call at first then he steals 2B -- followed by a grounder to 2B and Sac fly to CF -- to tie it up at 4 in the 5th --- seems forever since the Reds have made that kind of score

Pirates take lead in bottom of the 9th --- unreal how fast the RISP numbers are falling for Cards

    13 hits and a walk tonight - 4 runs

It was only a matter of time.

Regression will come for Pitt as well.

Just about time for the Pirates pitching to undergo similar regression.

Well thanks for nothing Cardinals. Literally the first time I can ever remember wanting to see you win a game, and you lose.
