    ...and, here we go...

Pirates start the bottom of the ninth w/ a single. It's amazing how bad the Marlins have been in closing out the games in this series.

    ***UPDATE***

    Next batter grounds into DP.

    ***UPDATE***

    B10, 2Outs, 1st/2nd, PH up...Russell Martin.

    Game over...Martin delivers.

Pirates win 5 of 6 over Rockies/Marlins in Pittsburgh. Need Rockies to take at least one this weekend in Colorado from the Pirates.

Another walk-off win by the Buccos, ergo I am not leaving the house this evening.

Yahoo Sports is slow. Martin singled and drove in Harrison.

REDS need, yes, need, a sweep of the Padres in Cincinnati over the weekend. It's not that difficult as the REDS are a very good ballclub while the Padres are not.

The Pirates are really starting to stick in my craw. And I'm not even sure what a craw is.

The Pirates have a horseshoe jammed firmly up their rear end.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Is this the Pirates year? I still don't know. I was curious if they were still hanging this late last year.

Last year, August 8, their record was 63-47, which tied their high water mark for the year. We shall see...........................

They're going on the road for three games in Colorado, who gave them a good series in Pittsburgh this last weekend. One loss in Colorado is a very strong possibility. Two losses in Colorado is not likely, but very possible.

McCutchen got the day off today, so he goes into Colorado rested.
