Thinking the same thing. What's the chances of this team going 1-7? Yeah not going to happen. We have a better team then most think.

I question your definition of most. The minority think this team is worse than it is. The majority are proud of the team and having a good time watching them.

Minority isn't afraid to let the world know when they think the season is over. 3:1 you'll have the doomsdayers.

I actually missed that 4th game of the Pirates series when I looked at the schedule. I thought it was a 3-game series, not 4.

    2-3 so far. Probably should be 3-2. I'm looking at Patrick Corbin's stats.......9-0, 2.28 e.r.a. He's given up 21 less hits than innings pitched. He's 5-0 at home with a 1.71 e.r.a.

Lefties are hitting .141 against him. Ugh.

I hope his stuff is off today.

    Re: The Next 4 Weeks

So through the first 3 weeks of a tough stretch I have the Reds at 8-10. 7 games left to go before we get to the All Star break and it will be a tough week with all 7 on the road and the final 4 coming at Atlanta. If we can finish this stretch at 12-13 I think I would be happy.

The Reds play twenty games for the rest of July. Seventeen are on the road.
The Reds are under .500 on the road.

And the three home games are against the Pirates.

If the Reds can make a move, sooner is better than later. I hope they don't dig a hole they can't get out of.

This team does need a spark of some sort. Playing decent, but not fantastic baseball in the NL Central isn't good enough. Hopefully the team comes back to life after the break. The upcoming schedule is no time to slump.

Between today and July 31 this will make or break this team. Toughest stretch of the season will only three home games. We will see if they have it or not to survive this stretch.
