T/F: Chapman = Cingrani plus 5 mph and a tan?
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

I don't disagree with you. But it's pretty naive of fans to not realize that's the reality of the situation. And it is even more emphatic in regards to a rookie doing it.

I just think that Tony's value comes in being a starter. And I'm afraid they may just end up turning him into a reliever if he has a bit of success.
The Reds are developing Cingrani as a starter and that is what he has been in the minors. I don't think you need to worry that the Reds are all of a sudden going to make him a reliever. With some injuries to Brox and Marshall he is needed to help with the bullpen. Once people are healthy he will go back to starting.

As long as no one is on base, Chapman should intentionally throw one wild heater to every batter.

Walker was done after that breezed his chin. All Chapman had to do was get the next pitch over. Walker was going to be wondering where the next pitch went.

I don't think so. It was just inside and a missed spot I think. But at 100...I certainly don't blame someone from diving out of there. Hell, I'd be diving out of there before the wind up. :O)

Ok...I know what you're going to say, but this is ridiculous! When you throw that hard, that's a weapon. If you're going to come up and in, fine. But for crying out loud, be able to control it.

I've been around. We've lost five games that way since the beginning of May. One was a blown save by Chapman, one was by Ondrusek, who's not around now. So three games lost by non-closers trying to get the ball to Chapman. A couple of them just happened in close proximity to each other, so some fans overreacted.
