The older I get - the better I was
and yes - I hate the Cardinals (Reds fan since 1958)
I miss Raisor
This one is not only on the offense, but also on the starting pitching. Not often can you say that. Of course credit must be given to Pittsburgh's excellent pitching, which is better tan ours right now. Just one of those days.

Another game in which the Reds come out looking flat and sleepwalk through the game. This happens too often for a team in a pennant chase. And to do it against one of the teams you're fighting the division for is just mind-boggling. This is why I started the thread on ORG asking who the leader of this team is. They don't seem to have anyone to light a fire under them when they look like this.
Reds should be 53-19 right now. No excuse for these kinds of losses.
I didn't watch the game, but the Reds do have to lose a game or two in the next 3 months
The Pirates are a solid team
At least the dickybirds lost tonight too. Minor consolation.
Losses are going to happen. The best team in the league will lose 60-65 games. It's baseball. What I'm talking about is when the Reds just look flat. Sometimes they rally to win games like this, but more often than not they lose them. I'm ok with losses, but not ok with not coming out ready to play.

I wish I knew who said it but its true. No matter how good or bad you are in baseball, you are going to win 1/3 of your games and lose 1/3 your games. It's how you do in those final 1/3 of games that differentiates the playoffs teams from the rest of the pack. Tonight I think was not one of those final 1/3 of games.
Get back to it and try again tomorrow, 2 more vs Pittsburgh left to play.
