    R.I.P. James Gandolfini

Reports he has passed away at age 51, while attending a film fetival in Italy.

Wow. A great talent taken far too soon. Had he ever suffered from heart problems before?

    Well this sucks.

    Re: R.I.P. James Gandolfini

I was recently surprised to learn that he was my age; he seemed older, or maybe just less childish. He was a good actor, a strong presence on the screen, but now the picture has unexpectedly gone dark. No disrespect intended, just an acknowledgement of the synchronicity.

For some reason this bothers me more than other celebrities that pass away. Not sure why, but it does.

    Re: R.I.P. James Gandolfini

There are three threads right now about celebs who died at age 90 and one about a writer who died after a bout with cancer. Gandolfini was not only younger (my age!) but he died unexpectedly. Add in the fact that Tony Soprano was such a strong character, albeit one whose life hung by a thread and the fact that Gandolfini was such a strong presence who I'm sure most of us thought still had significant roles ahead.

This is one of those that just doesn't seem right.

If he cant pull off Tony successfully, you dont have Breaking Bad, Madmen, Sons of Anarachy, or the Americans.

Shocked to hear of his passing on the radio news on the way home tonight.
