Imagine what this kid could be with another pitch (or two).
Rounding third and heading for home...

Crazy that Tony C. can throw the same pitch 8 times in a row and Jones still can't square it up.

    Wasn't meant to be.
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

    Question:

Why not bring in Chapman in the 7th and then Cingrani in the 9th?

That's not really an accurate description of Alvarez.

Just one of those days when IMO Dusty had no feel for his bullpen. Not a sharp critic of Dusty, but he didn't go with his fresh arms and it likely cost him the ballgame.

that's why you throw more than one pitch. Cingrani still thinks he can get everyone out with one pitch. had he thrown a breaking ball, it would have helped get Alvarez off balance.

At a certain point, when you throw the same pitch over and over, major league hitters -- no matter how good they are -- can square it up and put it in play. Chapman's FB might be the only exception (when it is travelling at 103 to 106 MPH).
