    1. It's not over.

    2. What makes this 'one' anymore important than any other game?
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

Cingrani threw 17 straight fastballs today.

    Not making a general criticism.

But I must say, this was predictable by virtue of Dusty using tired/unrested relievers when he had fresh arms available.
I know you like it -- that's why I took editorial credit. I think it's more accurate with the added word though.

We "really needed" game 5 against the Giants last October. We didn't really need this one. It would have been nice though.

Sooner or later the Reds are gonna have to win some series against teams above .500. Unfortunately they can't play the Brewers or Cubs in the playoffs.
    I miss Adam Dunn.

That's consistent with what I just wrote. He goes to the plate 600+ times. Thirty go over a fence, the rest don't do much of anything.

The offense is among the top run producers in the NL. I think what we are experiencing is the typical variation of a long season. It hurts, but even if they lose, the Reds will still be 43-30, second place in the Central.

Based loaded needed two strikeouts. If only there was someone in the bullpen that could do that

We're headed out west on a tough road trip. Pirates are nipping at our heels. If we come back from the trip .500, we'll likely be 3rd in the division. Be as self-righteous as you like, but this is a big game.

Because of Tony LaRussa and his boy Eckersley. Managers today are more concearned with their boy getting a save than bringing him in when most needed to put out a fire. To me, it's inexplicable.

Won the last series against the Pirates. Won 2 (maybe even 3) against them in this series.

For years, George Grande has extolled the virtues of moving a runner over when the situation really didn't merit it.
