Thanks guys....just checking out the thoughts of this board.

You can probably guess my main thoughts....but I won't harp. I'll play nicely. We don't have Stubbs anymore so life is much better.

    Go Reds!

    Jeez. Enjoy it people.
For some, critique is part of enjoyment. We are a strange breed, I admit.

While I don't think regular season record against various teams says much about what will happen in the playoffs, I will say that I am not excited about the prospect of getting the Wild Card. If the playoffs as a whole are a crapshoot, the Wild Card one-game playoff seems like throwing stuff at a wall to see if it sticks.

I know and understand the Reds could very well end up above .500 against those teams but .512 to .389 is a huge difference.
I would expect a team capable of going to a WS, to be closer to .500 against those teams. Certainly if it's early August and we're still at this point, it's probably not as big of an elephant standing in the room here on RZ.

This is not unique to reds fans. I post/read forums for all of my favorite teams, and it's a part of the Internet era.

Don't see the playoffs in the picture. Just can't beat winning teams.

Sorry, but when you lose 3 in a row at home after being up 2 games to 0, all leeway the following season is forfeited.

I will judge the team by how they do in the playoffs. If they win 108 games and lose in the NLDS again, still a failure.

almost half way though the season and we have a dismal record against .500+ teams. Not too early, just the hard cold facts.

not sniffing the NLDS the way they are headed. Remaining schedule is not just Cubs and Brewers.
