So he is going to make a move much later than he originally should have?

I think it also depends on how Mes continues to hit. If he does, it could be more like the Hatteberg to Votto transition where Votto basically kicked down the door and gave Dusty no choice but to start him.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

I have to agree with Dusty on one thing though (I was actually thinking about this for a week). Hannigan is much better at stopping the opponents running game than Mes is.

The Pirates seemed to run at will against Mes for example.

Against a team that runs a lot, I can see Hannigan getting some consideration.

I still think Mes should get the majority of starts though, especially if Hannigan is nursing a nagging injury. When Hannigan gets activated, no reason to catch Hannigan more than 2/week until he's fully healed. Hopefully Hannigan gets healed up and starts hitting better. I think his lingering injuries have impacted his offense this year (just a guess)
[Phil ] Castellini celebrated the team's farm system and noted the team had promising prospects who would one day be great Reds -- and then joke then they'd be ex-Reds, saying "of course we're going to lose them". #SellTheTeamBob

    Reality:

Andrew McCutchen had the only steal of the series by the Pirates. It was off of Manny Parra and Devin Mesoraco.

I think it depends on who is speaking. Some might think that he was handled properly, others that he was handled just right. Usually depends on the outcome.

Give him credit, he did say that it seemed that way.

Chris Welsh just said that when Mesoraco looks into the dugout, he isn't getting the pitch--he is getting the play, such as a pitchout or throw over!

That is just wrong! He must not have been paying attention!

All I know is that I certainly was set straight. I know better now.

I am so confused. Is this still the debate about where pitches are called?

No debate at all. I was set straight on the topic, and I'm paying attention now.
