Eh. That's what I was hoping to avoid, frankly.

Doesn't change the fact Mes is not the thrower ,by a long shot, that Hanigan is.

Right now he certainly isn't. There is something mechanical going on. It isn't an arm strength problem, he simply is not close to accurate nearly enough recently (what, the last 5-6 weeks or so?). Hanigan doesn't have the strongest arm around (it is quite strong though, so don't take this out of context), but he is quite successful because he is very, very often right on target.

I think Doug is right. At season's beginning, I saw Mes make a couple great throws and thought he was going to have a great arm this year from behind the plate. Then something happened and he began throwing off target. I'd certainly think it is a mechanical issue that the coaches can fix because he sure as heck has the arm strength and he was throwing much more accurately before the last few weeks.

That's something that I don't understand. I thought throwing out runners was a strong point of Devin's game in the minors. I remember wanting to see Hamilton running on Mesoraco in the Futures game, because Mesoraco was supposed to have been a beast at throwing out runners.

Mesoraco was banged up before the All Star break. Wonder if his mechanics got out of whack compensating for an injury. Trying to remember what his specific injury was. His back was part of it, but I think there was something else as well.

Wonder if his back still hurts?

All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

Mes is still a work in progress. He had a hot stretch hitting. I join in the excitement that caused. But he still has a ways to go.

Below that he's still Mes. When he hits .775, he's Rocco.
