What a demoralizing half inning after fighting back to tie it. Wouldn't be surprised if they mail the rest of this game in.

I'd take 4-4 on this roadtrip in a second. Best news is two desperately needed days off next week. Chase Field can be a bandbox so this one isn't over quite yet.

I'm just trying to make sense of when Relievers only went one inning every other day...and that they cannot be extended sometimes. He is going to be PH for... so he was only going to have to go 1 inning. Partch is now along with parra....going to have to close it out.

If you want to see bullpen overuse... look at the Pirates or Yankees right now. Look what Pete did with the Reds in 1986-87.

Relievers can pitch back to back games...even if they went 2 innings the previous game. He did not throw a lot of pitches the previous game and can probably give you one. This is what relievers do, they pitch in multiple games. Yet every time Dusty puts someone in for 2 let alone 3 straight games there is head shaking. NOT by you every time...but by at least a majority most of the time.
When a guy throws two innings I would try and rest him the next day.

Dusty has been using arguably tired pitchers in high leverage situations lately. Don't love that unless we are talking top notch guy.

I probably would have used Lecure there. Admit it is tough when the starter comes out early in the game and the pen needs to cover a bunch of innings.

10 out of the last 13 games they've failed to score more than 2 runs (including tonight so far) I believe. If one of the big 3 is slumping, or God forbid two of them, they get shut down pretty easily.

The bullpen has stunk, and they've gotten 2-3 bad starts in that stretch (God forbid a starter here give up more than 3 runs once in a while).

Hope things turn around, quite strange to be wringing hands over a team that's 14 games over .500 in June and soon to be in 3rd place. Weird year.

Just because their pitching seems to be much better than ours, and I don't know why. Also, because they out scored us 11-9 at home recently, mainly because they out pitched us and continue to win. Maybe I'm just a little paranoid, but when your ace looks like trash and your so-called bulletproof bullpen can't even do anything but throw wild pitches, you have to wonder what's up. Over the last 10 games, if tonight's score holds, they have been 7-3 and we've been 5-5. They might be for real, but they're acting like it.

Ryan Hanigan should never take the bat off his shoulder. Ever.
