It's not a good idea. No manager in baseball is going to do what you're asking. Not one.
Seattle did tonight. Saunders started and pitched 1.2 innings giving up 6 runs to the Pirates. I guess the Mariners manager doesn't want to concede games like the Reds manager does.

The Rockies are trying to stay in the race. Their starter Nicasio gave up 12 hits and 6 runs in 2.1 innings before getting pulled against the Red Sox tonight. I guess the Rockies manager doesn't want to concede any games either.

Reds should totally try to be more like the Mariners and Rockies, two teams they're way better than.

It's not about "conceding" games. It's about giving yourself the best chance to win the most games over the course of a long season.

Telling you, Dusty forgot about the DH rule and is still waiting to pinch hit for Bronson, LOL.

Bases loaded now for Jay Bruce.

Well, gee..........if maybe Arroyo was pulled after giving up only 3 or 4 runs, the Reds might have a chance to come back and win this thing. Allowing the starter to get shelled for 6 or 7 runs, is basically giving up.

A sense of urgency would be a nice thing to see occasionally when the wheels are falling off.

Lucky break there. Chance for the ball to be caught in foul territory, but it wasn't.

Really does hurt the bullpen when it has to pitch 7 innings. I can understand Dusty's decision there. If the Reds score some more, then I agree he should go to the pen. At this point, probably should go to the pen either way.

These threads are absolutely unbearable anytime the Reds are losing. Literally everytime they're losing it's Dusty's fault.
