He's been a disappointment this year. I expected much more from him. If the Reds could get Young without giving up the farm I would take him. As long as he knew he was going be the utility guy and not be playing everyday. Young can still play 3b,2b and 1b. All the positions Hanahan plays. Young isn't a good defender anymore but he can give you a better bat.

But we don't have a spot for Young's bat, so what would be the point? Are the 30 plate appearances a month Hannahan gets really what is holding us back? Hannahan hasn't hit righties decently like he normally does, but he is also on pace for his least amount of plate appearances since 2007, so it's not like he's had a lot of chances.

If you play Young anywhere, it has to be LF IMO. And I'd be against it.
I'd much rather have Frazier's glove at 3B and a plus bat/glove in LF or CF.

Yea, I agree. If Young can play a passable LF, he's a potential good target.
I really have no idea if he can play LF or not.

Young was an average at best SS when he was young and he hasn't played the position consistently since 2008.
Choo's younger, but he's never really played CF before. At least Young has played SS in his career.

Hanahan's Irish jig is the second best walk-up music on the team, behind Joey Votto's Paint it Black. Though that's not saying much since all the rest are god-awful.
