It's weird, but I'd honestly prefer these scenarios, in order:

    1) Reds win WS
    2) Reds win NLCS, lose in WS
    3) Reds miss playoffs altogether, fire Dusty Baker
    4) Reds lose in the NLCS, retain Dusty Baker
    Amazing

    Re: Official Trade Deadline Thread

MLB TV says, in essence, that teams dropped back on Byrd because of Mets demands. Also suggested that teams may be coming back on Byrd today. Didn't mention Reds.

Says Cards looking at Navarro, our old friend, now that Molina is on the DL.

Watching this MLB Trade Special you wouldn't know the Reds are in the major leagues. Haven't heard their name mentioned.

Mets Blog says Pirates are among teams who may be vying for Marlon Byrd.

That'd be so like the Cards to copy the Reds model and bring on former Cincy players

Heard rumblings that #Pirates inquired about #Angels 1B Mark Trumbo and might be willing to part with young SP; not sure if it has legs.

Hope the Cards don't snatch up Corky. Or maybe I do???

Walt always operates below the media radar. If he is doing something, we won't know till its done.

And I said if, not when.

I know you'll hear me on this. I'd give anything to be able to watch a nothing happening Reds game in the middle of January. I spend six months watching the Cincinnati, and six months day dreaming about it. I have other things in my life that are rewarding and fun and important (mostly unimportant), but man, regardless of whatever I've got cooking December 12, I'd probably rather be watching Homer do battle. Cannot fathom preferring throwing away the opportunity for playoff baseball because you think the manager is doing a poor job.

The notion that changing managers has an appreciable difference in win-loss outcomes is magical thinking of the first order. It's like a mass delusion.

Deadline is super boring, shouldn't have stopped playing Earthbound.

    Exactly

If you watched the past 13 seasons no manager will chase you away, the game is bigger than one guy and bigger than any hate I could muster for him
