    Who's getting called up?

No word yet on who's replacing Cueto on the roster or if Cueto's going on the DL.

    Who's your pick?

I'm betting it's Zach Duke to put another lefty in the pen. Getting thin down there in Louisville.

I'd call up Greg Reynolds, simply because he's pitching the best out of anybody in Louisville.
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

I would call up Reynolds and have him in the rotation until Marshall returns. Let Cingrani remain in the pen for now.

How about we go process of elimination.

I'll go with NOT Pedro Villarreal.

OK, I'll answer the original question: Zach Duke with Cingrani moving to the rotation.

Wouldn't mind seeing Reynolds in the rotation and Cingrani stay in the pen though. Those are the only two legit options: Duke or Reynolds.

I bet they go with Ondrusek before either of these guys.

It will be Ondrusek, who is with the team (no move announced yet)

Fay tweeted that Ondrusek is there with the team, so that's that.

I'd much rather have Cingrani in the rotation, especially if we are losing Cueto again. He made losing Cueto the first two times ok. If we threw in there Pedro Villareal or a guy like Todd Redmond like last season, it would have been detrimental to the team.

The fact that we didn't really miss a beat when we lost Cueto last time is pretty amazing.

I guess they don't want to mess with the 40 man roster, since Ondy is on it. Poor excuse if you ask me to bring up a player who may not be the best option for the team.

    Fay just tweeted:

Cueto to DL, Ondrusek activated, Cingrani in the rotation. #reds @Cincienquirer

Kinda nuts. They only have 39 on there now and Lotzkar and Villareal are DFAs that are past due (probably Ravin too).

    Re: Who's getting called up?

You could pretty much tell this is what they were going to do as soon as Cueto was hurt. They put Cingrani in and told him to go as long as he could, even when he was walking the ballpark, knowing they were going to bring him back 5 days later.

And Ondrusek is the only candidate named in this thread on the 40-man.

Not sure why status on the 40 man matters when there is an opening and two AA picthers with injury and control histories that have been demoted to A+ taking up spots. The least of this team's worries are those last 3 spots on the 40 man roster.

Now lack of viable candidates on the other hand ....

The only other legit choice was Reynolds. But he started all season so he is being groomed as the backup starter in case of another injury.

Not big on Logan at this point but unaware of other good minor league relievers ready for bigs.

Doubt this is a forty man roster thing.
