It's easy to make comments like that when you hardly ever see a guy play. While Votto has had a somewhat disappointing season defensively so far this year, he isn't as bad as that one inning would indicate.
Besides, didn't Rafael Palmeiro play for the Rangers the year he won the Gold Glove despite playing only 15 games in the field that season? What do they know about 1B defense?

Sure. But if they lose in the 8th or 9th it won't mean anything. I don't like Chapman any more with that much rest than I do when he pitches three days in a row.
