I don't watch every minute of every game, but when was the last time Mes actually threw out a runner.

Brantley on radio saying that Mes comes out of the crouch straight up and doesn't get any momentum on the throws. That's why they usually go into the dirt.

Reds in this situation would GIDP.

    Rangers will take advantage.

The ongoing criticism of Stubbs defense by me and a few others was that he pulls up and plays it safe on balls that he can catch. Many, who can't seem to read, were up in arms because they misconstrued that to mean we wanted him to leave his feet and risk the ball rolling to the wall for extra bases and it was never the point. When the ball is still fifteen feet in the air, taking another step or two to make the catch wouldn't hurt. Drew pulled up and played those on the bounce quite a bit IMO.

Most over-rated defensive player I've ever seen. He was good covering gap to gap and that's flashy seeing him chewing up ground, but he gave it all back and then some on plays in front of him and to some extent balls over his head, though lots of guys have trouble with those. His trouble going back caused him to play way too deep, IMO, which magnified his issues on balls in front of him.

I associated your citing Redszone wanting Stubbs to dive with that whole scenario.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

Problem is there's always an excuse. Never the right situation for Mes to actually throw out a runner.

He's supposed to have a good arm, hard to see it watching these games, but I guess people know.

Just not a fun team to watch despite all the talent.
There's a lot of talent in the pitching staff. There's certainly some in the lineup, but not enough to overcome the lack of talent that exists in other everyday positions.

Thom and Chris said in the broadcast earlier to day that he last threw out a runner attempting to steal in the series at Pittsburgh at the beginning of June.
