They have been testing for it in the minors since 2010, when Davis spent nearly a full season down there.

Huge difference between that and Chris Davis.

You believe there are only 3.75 players on MLB active rosters who are using? OK.

Of course the question is, has Chris Davis seen a huge spike in skill, rather than production?

As a 21-year-old in the minor leagues he hit 36 doubles and 35 home runs in just under 500 at bats. That kind of power is virtually unheard of. At 22-years-old he hit 21 doubles and 23 home runs in just under 300 at bats.

So, as a very young player he hit 57 doubles and 58 home runs in 792 at bats (along with 4 triples). So he was averaging an XBH at age 21 and 22 every 6.65 at bats.

Fastforward to his "prime" for power output and he is now averaging an XBH every 5.36 at bats.

That doesn't fit the "massive improvement out of nowhere" category for me.

I don't believe anything because I don't have a full view of all the information.

    I'm kinda funny that way.

    1. What information do you need?
    2. What is your opinion of the Selig stat you quoted?

Chris Davis says the record he's chasing is 61 home runs. Votto disagrees.

"If Chris feels like 61 is the home run record, maybe he’s just selfishly pegging that number as the home run record so if he passes it he can wear a crown or something like that, there would be a lot of money in that."

    1 - All of it

2 - That he has more information than I do so I can't say he's wrong or right

Doesn't sound like Votto and Davis will be a sharing a Starbucks coffee anytime soon.

You have no opinion on whether more than .005% of mlb players are using PEDs and/or other banned substances?

I don't care to play the game without knowing all the facts, but please carry on.

    1. Why quote the stat then?
    2. If we expand what you said to all topics, no one would be allowed to post on any subject around here.

Is that really unheard of? Bruce and Dunn did the same thing at that age range in the minors and that is just 2 from the Reds.
