Did Arroyo ever pitch in the mid 90s when he was younger?

No, I don't think he made it to the majors until 2001.

/really, I don't know if his fastball was ever that fast
The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. -- Terrance Mann (Field of Dreams)

Rain reported to really be picking up at the stadium; seeing some lightning.

    Rain delay.
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

Not surprising, with the rain really picking up and starting to get lightning too. We'll see how things go here. If they do have to cancel it, the Reds have won, right?

If Seilig can prevent it from happening, he will.

The cheers you just heard came from Bristol, CT. ESPN now gets to show the Yanks/Twins.
"In our sundown perambulations of late, through the outer parts of Brooklyn, we have observed several parties of youngsters playing 'base', a certain game of ball. Let us go forth awhile, and get better air in our lungs. Let us leave our close rooms, the game of ball is glorious"

In this case, are there any behind the scenes lobbying from the Reds and Giants to just call it?

No sense in finishing this one out.

Fun fact during the rain delay.

In terms of batting/fielding/base running WAR, Ryan Ludwick is tied with Tony Cingrani (which is also odd) and Devin Mesoraco for 8th place on the team. (0.1 WAR)
