I'm not disagreeing. I just think the ballclub has a number of guys who haven't hit consistently well this year. Add Frazier, Hanigan, Heisey.

It's too bad because the Reds are in a period now when, finally, after so many years, their pitching is really quite good. Wish the offense wsa more consistent.
I like Cozy in the two hole against a lefty. I don't know his splits right now but he does do better against them. I wouldn't mind seeing Phillips in the two hole with Mez batting cleanup. This offense needs a shake up or something.

I really hope they don't lose to lowly Seattle. Just when they start playing good they lay a dud. And to make it even better they will fall 4.5 back of Pittsburgh.

They better find a way to score at twice in the B/9th.

If not I will be very upset!

Why do they always say a well hit ball sounds like "someone stacking timber"?

Makes me think they've never actually been to a lumber yard. At least to me, it sounds nothing at all like "stacking timber".

Grounder, top of the ninth over. Okay, this is it. Be great to see a walk-off here. I'd take extras if we have to.

I've thought of this too, but I don't think Dusty would consider batting Mes cleanup.

I know he's your guy but he went .209/.269/.279 for June and is 3 for 16 so far in July. He's in one of his classic famine stretches.

He's basically a league average bat that survives on short bursts of superman at the plate.

It's a looong season, my friend. We've just barely hit the halfway point and there's no way whatsoever the Pirates are going to keep this pace up. No way in hell.

Even then, we've got a 6 game lead on the 2nd wild card, so all is not lost.

One day I will understand why people are in love with Devin Mesoraco. In my opinion, he's a below average fielder and average with the bat.
This is the ol Left Hander rounding third and heading for home.

Oliver Perez is still around, eh? This offense won't hit him.

Yeah, but the offense doesn't hit consistently. The team has other attributes, true, and all is certainly not lost.

But I wish the offense was more consistent.

Average with the bat out of a catcher is really quite a nice thing to have.

Oh, you'll get no argument from me on that. This offense frustrates the bejeezus out of me.

I just always try to balance out my negative emotions with something positive. Makes being a fan much easier, lol.

We can fix that. Shanghai the guy after the game, beat him with wiffle bats until he promises to get glasses....

I also know a guy who knows a guy, know what I'm sayin'....?
