He was hitting a healthy .079/.182/.079 when he went on the DL. Now he's at .197/.288/.277.

So, he's got that going for him.

Robinson smacks one hard up the right; he's on with a base hit.

IMO the top organizations in sports, when losing an important player early, make sure they can cover that position. They don't say "it's too early," they act.

The fan base, IMO, has been very kind to the Reds on this. A top FO doesn't say, well, nobody is available we'll wait until July 31. And the inaction has hurt the team IMO.
Teams weren't going to deal playable guys in April or May unless you pried them away with a big overpay. Hamilton, Stephenson, Cingrani, etc. It was right to wait IMO. Prices are dropping to a reasonable level now and we've seen enough of Robinson and Paul to know that they won't be missed.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

We just disagree. True championship contenders fix these problems. They don't wait three months.

    Or don't.

Painful to watch this team hit.

Takes two to tango. Hard to find a trading partner in April or may.

Is there anyone that can prove or disprove my theory that Brandon Phillips is a horrible hitter when he has what is considered a hitters count? Obviously his plate discipline is horrendous, but this year it seems off the charts bad.
This is the time. The real Reds organization is back.

Counting today, the Reds have 9 games before the ASB and trail two teams in their division (Pirates by 4.5 games). They are in a bit of a funk and the fear is that they could hit the break and be 7 games back.

I agree that the Reds need to add something substantial either in the pen or offensively (how about both?).

The team as a whole has horrible plate discipline. Always been the case under Baker/Jacoby.

His career slash line in a "hitters count" is .293/.434/.502/.935 (1573 PA.)

    This year, it's .291/.452/.494/.946 (104 PA.)
