    I hate walking a guy like Ryan to get to the pitcher. Odds are great you're going to get either one out, and having the pitcher leading off the next inning is a big advantage.

    Yes, teams don't conduct fire sales early.

    But there are teams with outfield depth who have other needs and could improve with a good trade. It's the FO's job to find those teams and figure out a deal.

    The Reds have needed another bat for months. They chose a very conservative approach to this problem. It hasn't worked IMO.

    Jocketty is the anti Bowden/Krivsky. Those two liked to make a deal everyday. Jocketty only makes a move when he absolutely has to.
