Will Walt do anything by July 31?

With apparent slim pickings available for trades this year, will Walt & Co. do anything to obtain help by the deadline?

My answer is probably yes, but not likely to be anyone who would be an impact on the team.

I think typical Walt moves for spare parts will definitely happen. A bigger move will only go down if things fall into place perfectly. That's just his style.

Exactly, the competition will go out and make big moves to energize the team/fanbase to help the team make the playoffs and Walt will trade for a 50 year old Jim Edmonds.

He will add a bullpen arm or something or a Willi Bloomquist type. Not a difference maker.

Yeah like last year when the Pirates got Wandy Rondriguez and the Reds proceeded to win the division.

I can play that game too - how about the Giants going out and getting Hunter Pence and winning the world series?

Because the Reds blowing a 2-0 lead with 3 home games is somehow the GMs fault?

Yeah, Hunter Pence and his .219/.287/.671 line with San Francisco is what helped boost the Giants to the World Series.

Pretty sure I did not say that...

My point is last year all the breaks went the Reds way.

This year that is obviously not happening, have to make their own breaks and with the current roster that is not going to happen in my opinion.

Oh yeah the Reds clearly got all the breaks by their best player blowing his knee out and their ace getting hurt in the first batter he faced in game 1 of the playoffs.

I don't know what it means to "make one's own breaks" or why the current Reds roster should be unable to accomplish said feat.

best player blew his knee out and Todd Frazier and Ryan Ludwick started killing the ball immediately.

I am not talking about what they did in the playoffs. I am talking about making the playoffs. If you think the Reds are fine the way they are currently constructed...cool, I respect your opinion. In my opinion the Reds are not doing anything with this lineup. Ludwick was a devastating loss and the league now knows to not pitch to Frazier.

How does energizing the team's fan base help a team get to the playoffs? Perhaps I am misunderstanding what you wrote.
