At this point, Cozart may as well just bunt anytime Choo is on ahead of him.
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

It happens because there is a potential play at home. The hitter runs aggressively to draw a throw and help the run score.

It's an intentional play, especially when the team is having trouble scoring.

It's fine, Phillips did it on purpose.

Try to force the Brewers to cut it off and make sure the run scores.

Cozart and Frazier are both pulling everything on the ground. I think they are trying to pull everything and some pitches, mostly on the outside, will result in a grounder.

If they would go the opposite way on outside pitches, they would hit more line drives and fewer grounders.

Looks like Leake is in the inevitable regression period.

Tie game after two hits and a sacrifice fly. Leake lucky that didn't go for extra bases but was caught.

Did you listen to Uecker on Monday? I was wondering what his view (as an ex-catcher) was on Mesoraco playing rhrough the back pain.

Can't say it's a shock the way things are going right now.

Mes with his usual one hop throw to second. Guy can't reach second on a fly.

But that time it was accurate and he cuts down the runner.

This team needs a new SS in the worst way.

Leake worked through that inning pretty nicley after the first two batters.

I would like to disagree with this. Cozart plays excellent defense and has shown good power at times.

But with his OBP, it's impossible to argue that he should be in the lineup. It's just unacceptable.
