An ops of 1.000 is def a possibility. I don't give a fig about RBI.

others do though -- individual rbi -- Ok you have a slight point - but runs scored is the way the winner of this game is decided
The older I get - the better I was

and yes - I hate the Cardinals (Reds fan since 1958)

I'm a huge proponent of RBI as a meaningful stat. But I'm more concerned with team RBI's than individual RBI's. I could care less if Votto doesn't get another RBI all season, as long as the Reds score runs at a solid pace.

exactly -- hard to win without getting enough rbi

    REALLY? You are kidding?
If Votto doesn't get another RBI the rest season of the season, I'll bet my house the Reds finish 15+ games out.

If he walks in every AB, but gets driven in by others every time, the Reds will be in great shape.

Long seasons have runs like that for most teams.

It's really not that unlikely at all for either to happen. It's less unlikely for both to happen at the same time, but the Reds could still, very easily win this division in a cake walk. Stuff like that happens every year in MLB.

Really, worthless stat these day for some fans.
    What about hits with RISP?
I guess that doesn't matter either because it could result in a "worthless" RBI.

Not even close to last year. After 91 games last season the Reds were tied for 1st with the Pirates and 4.5 ahead of the Cardinals (5 up in the loss column). And a once in a century 21-2 run happened on top of that.

This year they are 6 Behind the Cardinals in the loss column and 5 behind the Pirates.

To say the Reds are going to win the division at this point by ten games or in a cakewalk is admirable, but a 1 in 100 proposition at best.

I forgot he had a couple of really nice throws, and they even took a blatant error away from him. Why? I have no frickin clue.

Something tells me if Votto had 94 right now like Cabrera does, this conversation/debate would be a little different...

Also if anyone else but Tom Servo starts the game thread tonight, that poster should be immediately banned for life. Check the track record over the last couple of weeks.

I definitely have a winning %, but I always get a little gun shy after a loss or two though. I got the last Milwaukee one, but before that I dropped two straight with Milwaukee and Oakland.

Yes I pay too much attention to these things.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Is Votto (GOD), beyond any criticism? So you have no problem that Joey never tries to break up a DP?

Wow you are so right. And the odds of that happening are exactly ZERO!
