Hey Brantley, Hudson played at Auburn University not the Univ. of Auburn. You would think a Miss St. guy would know that since they are in the same conference and all.
I never got the hype. Lots of guys have a good season and a half in the minors. Particularly guys with massive upper cut swings.
To be fair to Mes I think he is pretty beat up right now and sucking it up for the team. I agree he looks like crap right now but I don't think we know how hurt he really is.
When the Reds picked him, I looked at his High School stats, but don't ever remember him as much of a hitter. He didn't stand out at all in the minors, either.

Baseball is a game of inches -- going against us both ways in that at bat.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.
When stuff starts going bad, Latos is the last guy I would want on the mound.
