Honestly, I haven't watched it in years. I don't think I've watched it since Griffey was a participant.

It's all fun and games until someone gets mauled.

Amen! I have yet to watch one since it's inception. But then I've been pretty sour on the AS game for many years too. It's a joke as long as it's lineups, who does and doesn't deserve to be there, are dictated by fan voting.

    Ditch the derby.

If we must have an All Star break (I vote we skip it completely), play the futures game on Monday night, the All Star Game on Tuesday and a double header of AAA and AA All Star Games on Wednesday. Back to real games on Thursday. Never figured out why they added that extra day anyhow.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

    I like this. Almost.

I love the derby, though I could do with Berman.

    One request:

Demand Berman to tone it back, back, back, back, back. Way back.

The derby in Cincinnati is going to be all sorts of fun. Landmarks a plenty.

Yeah, it's enough already Boomer. Don't try so hard, a lot of people already like you.

Fangraphs had a Derby post today, they suggested making the winner be by whoever hits the farthest home run. That way the players shoot for more impressive home runs, instead of getting a bunch of second basemen and stuff in there who win by scraping a bunch over the wall.

More Cespedeses and Stantons, less Canos and Ugglas.

Alvarez or Davis might hit one to Covington. On a fly.

Someone might finally win the damn Tundra.

I'm so glad there is not a game thread for this, but here I am commenting. . I've watched it for 5 minutes during commercials for Diners, Drive Ins and Dives (perhaps the finest show EVER on TV) and find it completely boring.

Maybe it's just Berman? Or maybe it's that when there are so many HR's then they're not so special?

I did enjoy watching Bryce Harper's dad trying to strike him out with cut fastballs though what a thrill for his dad, pitching to his son in the ASG HR contest. Can you imagine that?
    sorry we're boring

Love that idea. If its a contest, make it strongest man, not a marathon.
    sorry we're boring

There is no such thing as a pitching prospect.
