    Post your baseball clichés here

    I'll start:

"He plays the game the right way."

One near and dear to our hearts:

    "He gives 110%"
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

Modern ones that started out as fairly advanced analysis but have been dumbed down so much for the masses that the people who use them usually don't know what they are talking about:

    "Plate Discipline"
    "Strike-outs are just another out"
    "Luck"

I see what you are doing there, but for those to be clichés they probably need to be housed in a full expression. The middle one is definitely a cliché, since it is a phrase we hear all the time, but the other two are just words without enough context IMO.

No biggie, just trying to refine what I meant by "cliché" here (and trying to fend off a debate about new stats, which wasn't my goal).

From Joe Nuxhall (usually about a pitcher or possibly Dusty's #2 hitter lol)...

Hitters who avoid outs are the funnest.

"See the ball, hit the ball"

If it were really that simple, wouldn't anyone with good vision be a good hitter?
