    3 Past Players....

List 3 players who have played in the past 20 years....that you wish you could watch them play in today's game but at their prime level.

    1. Nolan Ryan
    2. Rickey Henderson
    3. Bo Jackson (never reached his prime)

You want to stop at 20 fine. I went a little further back. It's all good.

    1) Ken Griffey, Jr.
    2) Will Clark
    3) Pedro Martinez

Of the top of my head. Two amazing swings and a small guy who still boggles my mind with how hard he threw.

Even just watching Nolan as he was older was fun.

    On July 4th 1992 Nolan pitched a complete game 3 hitter, striking out 13 and throwing 135 pitches----AGE 45 and 5 months

And even if Bo never played out any better than he was in the late 80's...I just love athletes that can do stuff no one else can seem to do. I've never seen an athlete that made you just shake your head in amazement the % of time Bo did. He didn't play very long but he's done 4 unique things that I had never seen before or since.

    This.

Only the fact that he was injured keeps me from pointing to Bo Jackson as proof of Extra Terrestrial life on this planet.

Just one more time, I'd like to see a player break a bat on his thigh or helmet. He didn't even look angry when he did it. It was more like, "I can do this, so I will".

    Rickey....

    1058 runs
    870 walks

    750 stolen bases

BEFORE he turned 30 AND he missed around 200 games due to DL or strike

Lead the league with 66 SB in 1998...just months before turning 40

Typically, I just don't like hot dogs....but there was just something about Rickey.

After his MVP with the A's he was wanting more money and the A's low balled him....his response "If you wanna pay me like Mike Gallego...I'm gonna play like Mike Gallego"....his teammate of course.

    Barry Bonds. Think about it.

    Think about what?

    Man I wish Davis could've played 155 games in 86 or 87

Bonds playing his whole career during the era of testing. Assuming he didn't use anyway, I think he'd still end up as one of the greatest hitters ever.

    1. Randy Johnson (most dominant lefty of all time?)
    2. Edgar Martinez (underrated hitter, master of his craft)
    3. Wade Boggs (high OBP guy, tons of doubles, went the other way a lot... hmmmm reminds me of someone we know)

    How was Edgar underrated?
