Surprised Votto didn't take the Victor Martinez route around home plate.

Votto has run like he is afraid of getting hurt for over a year now. If every single poster on this board knows it Speier has to know it too.

It's his tentativeness, not his knee.

Now whether he's tentative because of his knee, I'm not sure.

When you run bases with a 2 out hit and run, you gotta pick up your third base coach immediately. He took bad turns at both bags....he slows down to touch the bag. He needs to work on that if he is going to continue to be a world beater at OBP.

I didn't but unless Joey tripped over third base, its up to the coach to know the runner. I don't even want Votto sliding.

there's nothing like bowling a 300 game! 13 now and retired.

A guy who basically OPS's 1.000 under most situations, I'd rather he not take a chance on hurting his knee. I'm OK with Votto's base-running. I'm not OK with Chris Speier. I've always disliked him since his first days in the League (never liked most of the Giants who played with/under Dusty).

Then he should be on the DL, it's a requirement to play baseball

he had no problem striking out the righty leading off the inning. if a pitcher is pitching well don't mess with him.

Lecure gets out of trouble. Ground ball double play. One more shot for the Reds to grab some insurance here.
