    Relocating to Phoenix

Great advice from the community in regards to making a move... I left my wife behind in Indianapolis to finalize the sale of our home and to run out the string at her current job...

I had a position locked up, but it fell through in the final hour. I'm currently looking for employment out here while staying with a good friend. Any advice would be welcomed.

What area is your strength in terms of employment? Sales, Marketing, HR, etc.

Sales... I've worked the last 3 years at a freight brokerage. I'm pretty sure I can land another position in the industry with relative ease, but wouldn't mind another avenue if available.

Here's something to consider. Maybe not now but something to ponder for the future. If you are the 'sales' type... people person etc. Being a Development Officer. Fancy term for a fund raiser for a non-profit. We're not talking cold-calling people on the phone, we're talking about schmoozing with the rich folks.

I know a fair amount about this because I'm in the biz in another area. They are fairly well compensated. And believe it or not, because the field is so female dominated, men are kind of in-demand. Let me know if you need some info.

    Re: Relocating to Phoenix

I've locked down a decent opportunity for myself... Now for the one with the odd background, my wife.

She's 28, has her MBA from UIndy, BS Athletic Training. Has spent the last year as a practice manager at a dermatology practice, with the prior 2 years managing working as a program manager for St Vincent working directly with DCS.

She's caught in a bit of a loop where she'd like to make a career change (she's analytical and doesn't necessarily want to stay in health care in a direct management environment).

However, she's under-qualified for many positions with similar or better pay than she's making currently due to experience, but overqualified to take a entry-level bachelors only position with her MBA.

Any suggestions, or references in the Phoenix area for her? She's currently still back in Indianapolis taking care of the sale of our home before relocating.
