    Parker Frazier

    Parker Frazier acquired for Galarraga

24 y/o, son of former big league reliever George Frazier. Sinkerballer with ground ball tendencies. low 90s velocity. Biggest thing I see looking at his stats

is his tendency to give up the occasional long ball despite being a sinkerballer. Seems to do well from everything I read until he gets up in the zone. Then he gets hammered.

Not a sexy acquisition as he profiles as a reliever all the way but he also has some ability and could be a useful middle reliever. Given that all he cost the Reds was Armando, who was unlikely to ever be a contributor, and it is a little deal that could pay dividends.

I particularly like the fact that he is a groundball pitcher. Now, if he can keep his stuff down....

He was hammered in a brief AAA stint but had a really solid AA line.

Almost posted about him a day or so ago. Where's he been assigned?

Isn't it odd to have a player take so long to be assigned to a new club? Any idea from anyone what the hold up is?

    Nice outing today. 3 hitless, 3K's, 1W.

Live in Destin near Pensacola and have seen this young man pitch twice.

First off, a really nice person. My 9 year old baseball fan son shares his name and he took extra time to be cordial.

I've been very impressed with his ability to get ahead of hitters and make them chase bad pitches for the K. Looking forward to monitoring his progression and hopeful it leads up north.
