Madison Square Garden told to move

Not sure how I feel about this. Penn Station needs obvious work, but MSG has been there since 1968, man.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Like the article said, that's the 5th incarnation of the Garden in 5 different locations. They aren't exactly tearing down Wrigley Field.

It was a huge mistake to knock down the original Penn station to build this in the first place.

    Knock 'er down.

I'm fairly reverent when it comes to sports venues, especially older ones. But MSG has never held any appeal for me. Though its also a hockey arena I guess its cause I always saw it as a basketball place and that's low on my fandom totem pole.

Championships for MY teams in my lifetime:
    Cincinnati Reds - 75, 76, 90
    Chicago Blackhawks - 10, 13, 15
    University of Kentucky - 78, 96, 98, 12
    Chicago Bulls - 91, 92, 93, 96, 97, 98

10 years is an eternity, politically. That's plenty of time to get the right people paid off to make sure the Garden stays open.

What's Anthony Weiner's position and what images would he post on the MSG's jumbotron?

Penn is an abomination. If this helps that Godforsaken disaster, I'm game.

Where else is MSG going to go in Manhattan? It's not like there are tons of options with huge spaces! It's not the 60s or earlier anymore.

Penn Station needs a lot of work, no question. But the one thing that is nice about MSG is it is very easy to get to. And the fact that the Nets have made their arena easy to get to makes it all the more important I'm sure.

I'm just not sure that MSG has to go to make Penn Station better.

Maybe, but they knew this was a possibility when they spent that cash, as for where they can go, they can look at the west side stadium site that the Jets wanted to built a place at.

I don't think the West Side Stadium idea will ever come to pass. Like fearofpopvol1 said, I just don't see where they could be expected to put a new MSG in Manhattan.
