    Looking at the replay, Corky went straight after Hanley as well. I almost have to wonder if the ump was saying something too.

    The ump is supposed to signal safe in that situation, or to not signal at all, to signal the tag wasn't made. After that, it's up to the defense to recognize the runner didn't touch the plate. Great job by all involved, IMO.

    Marquez originally called Hanley safe....when Corky swiped....is the ump supposed to signal anything other than out (if he thought he initially tagged him)....had Hanley just kept running to the dugout....ump already called him safe.
