Reds hitters' PA with men on base

    1, 2, 4 and 16

It's an awful lot of PA with men on base and also shows why #2 hitter is important.

    Great research Junkhead.

FINALLY something solid that shows what I have been trying to say all along. Out of 208 plate appearances--Votto has 33 RBI with men on base. 33? REALLY?????

What about OBP? Ok... he takes a walk.... AND????

Votto is getting his chances--he is second in the freaking league behind Phillips, and he only has 33 RBI to show for it. Wow.

    Pathetic.

Are these numbers showing men on base vs RISP? Because, Joey accounts for a good number of BOTH of those stats for Brandon I would think. Your idea of "great research" is different than mine I suppose.

These numbers are far from solid and not even close to being any sort of indictment of Votto's "clutchness"

I'm going to go get some Advil, reading that gave me a headache.

Hitting .291 with men on base is pathetic?

When some people expect you to hit 1.000, yes.

...and pushes the runner(s) on base into a better scoring position for Brandon Phillips to knock in.

think harder - you can do it.

This concept is really not as hard as some of these guys are making it. It's really not...

    Yes, really.

87 of those PAs came with a man on first.

With "Men On," he has 13 IBB.

Here are some other fun splits for Votto:

    Code:

    Split PA OBP SLG OPS
    --- 248 .427 .574 1.001
    Men On 211 .441 .419 .860
    RISP 124 .452 .451 .902
He also has 72 runs scored: 4th on all of baseball and 2nd in the NL. I guess quite a few of those runs came because of walks.
