The loss column is much more relevant to me as the season moves into the home stretch. After tomorrow, the Reds hit the 2/3rds mark in games played. Going to be very difficult to leap two teams with 5+ advantage in the loss column.
Yes, sadly the .500+ demons continue. I'm not faulting them in this series. Dodgers and Rays are just playing in another stratosphere the last few weeks.
Edit: Tomorrow will be game 106, not 108. But the Wizard of Oz timepiece is getting a dusting off from the closet for use in a few weeks.

Big game tomorrow, all of a sudden the wild card is in jeopardy.

Another calming fact...
The Dodgers are the only team in the NL with a better record than the Reds over the past 10 games.
Look, all I am getting at is that the ship is not sinking.

I'm not too worried about the Reds missing the playoffs. However, even though the Dbacks are around the same number of games out of the second wild card now that the Nats were earlier, I think the Dbacks actually have a legitimate chance at getting it. They are above .500 and battling the Dodgers for the division lead.
Of course, that is something only the Pirates and Cardinals will have to worry about at the end of the season
