That's true, but I think they would be far less likely to do so than a rookie pitching his 2nd inning against the top of the order.

Headline: "Reds' pitchers fan 20, still lose."

    Bitter pill to swallow.

Dodgers 26-6 in the last 32. I said last night they will make a run for the overall top record in the NL which was inconceivable even a week ago. This team is loaded and a with an unlimited checkbook wide open.

I'm just waiting for Redszone to throw Dusty under a bus for pitching Curtis Partch there. Let's ignore the fact that outside of ONE pitch, Curtis was freaking fantastic. This game was going to be decided on a mistake pitch and someone taking advantage of it. Easily could've been a Dodger pitcher or even Chapman. Sometimes you just gotta tip your cap and say "well played". Outstanding pitching on both sides, excellent defense on both sides...it's an old saying, but neither team deserved to lose this game. Get 'em next game boys.

Man oh man is this team frustrating. 31 runs against the Giants in a 4 game series, then they take the Dodger series off. 2 Runs in the last 28 innings. PATHETIC!

I guess I am at a loss how the manager lost the game. If you score 0 runs and yield one, pretty hard to fault much other than the offense. For the record no managers use the closer on the road in a tie game. Modern Baseball 101

Hard to complain about managerial tactics when your garbage fart of an offense has managed 2 runs in 29 innings.

Outstanding pitching for 8 days on West Coast.

    4-4 record. No ground gained.
Rounding third and heading for home...

I agree. Well, except to say that I don't really blame the offense...I credit the pitching on both sides.

I'm simply not satisfied with a one game roll the dice playoff game against the Pirates. The Cards are going to open the door but this team doesn't look like its going to take advantage. This offense is pathetic. The stars are not stepping up and the supporting cast is not getting the job done. I think some kind of a change needs to be made.
