Man, this team has really been hurt by bad baserunning this year. We're even seeing a lot of weird stuff like Choo going back to first and guys getting thrown out because they didn't slide.
I may not be fast, but I sure am slow.

Yep. Cingrani is a good hitter, but just like with Leake, Baker can't give outs away fast enough.

There's no other way to say it, that's just bad baseball.

Yeah I'm not a huge fan of bunting when it is to get Robinson to the plate. Guy is pretty limited offensively.

Don't be fooled by the offensive outburst in SF. This team is still short a big bat, preferably RH.

I don't know why Mes ran on contact. He's been iffy on the bases recently. Hard to believe the Reds would instruct him to run on contact there, but it's possible.

I believe you are correct. They also have the lowest batting average in MLB when 1st pitch swinging.

It's not the kind of baseball WS contenders play.

Suggests an obvious sea change in our hitting philosophy then, no?

Perhaps poster was referring to the squeeze play that resulted in a foul.

I don't know how we can knock Cingrani's sacrifice. Not sure what anyone would expect the pitcher to do, especially in a lefty/lefty matchup.

You're good to go vs. the Reds. Anything above it is gravy.

    They need some help, Walt.
Actually, per Baseball Reference, before today the Reds are only slightly worse v. LHPs than right handers:

vs. LHPs: .251/.341/.399 for an OPS of .740
Vs. RHPs: .254/.329/.400 for an OPS of .730

    Grande finally just said Cingrani.
They don't think it be like it is, but it do.

yeah not sure you do anything other than that with Cingrani. Running on contact was brutally bad

I'm by no means outraged or knocking Dusty for the Cingrani bunt but with Robinson coming up I don't know that it improves your chances of scoring very much. Cingrani has looked decent with the bat.
