    Sickels 2013 Prospects Review

    http://www.minorleagueball.com/2013/...ects-in-review

John Sickels reviews his Reds top prospect list, but does not add new players to it.

He seems very sold on Stephenson, says it's too early to get down on Hamilton, and lists Langfield's injury as shoulder.

He says that Stephenson will head next year's list along side Ervin.

IMO Sickels is the best of the national prospect guys. Agree with just about everything he wrote in this article. Wish he gave a bit more praise to Yorman. Doesn't really mention Barnhart or Arias, although the latter has really just broken out this year.

He seems to really like Ervin.. Nice to see some buzz about this guy

The Reds like strong toolsy power hitters but most of them have contact and pitch recognition issues and never seem to work out as hoped. An exception looks like Phillip Ervin, 2013 first-round pick out of Samford who has power, speed, controls the strike zone, and is crushing the Pioneer League. He will stand next to Stephenson at the top of this list heading into 2014.
[Phil ] Castellini celebrated the team's farm system and noted the team had promising prospects who would one day be great Reds -- and then joke then they'd be ex-Reds, saying "of course we're going to lose them". #SellTheTeamBob
