There are things Dusty can and should be blamed for, and things he should not be blamed for. Walking a guy, and then throwing a pitch right down broadway for a walkoff 2 run HR is not something he should be blamed for.

what a difference four days makes, but the pitching staff is getting better as the season rolls on. That's the only thing I'm hanging my hat on. We'll know on August 5th if the division is still in play, can't drop 8-9 games in the loss column behind two teams with 52 left.

They easily would be 7-2 on this trip with any offense whatsoever. And that include the giveaway game in the doubleheader nightcap.

Could you imagine how screwed the Reds would be if they dumped Leake for this guy?

I'd be fine with Chapman back in the novelty 7th inning role.

Other than throwing really hard I see nothing different in Chapman than Coco Cordero
He usually gets the save, frequently makes it interesting when he should not
Can not believe people would not trade Chapman for a bat
The Reds have several guys that close games at the same rate as Chapman

Pretty please. Chapman has control issues, he pitches better with more regular use. What's really so hard to understand about that?

A three hundred year old Dave Weathers did it just as well.

So when should he have been used in the last few games?

i'm sure over 8-9 days dusty could have got him an inning.

Blaming this on the manager is really hilarious
Again, Dusty gets no credit for success and all the blame all the time
How about the guy that put this roster together?

I think he's a good pitcher. He obviously needs a structured pattern of usage. Can't have too much rest. Can't pitch more than a couple days in a row. Can't pitch more than an inning at a time.

Why is this guy a reliever, then?

Well....Dusty used him in an 8-3 game versus the Braves, so I would be ok in the 10th or 11th yesterday

And who hasn't made a single player move all season despite all the injuries and all the offensive problems. Not one acquisition of a major league player.
