Nice pitch. Guzman strikes out looking. 5 Ks. 1-0 Reds after 7.

    Great job Leake!

You guys think the offense has made this place grumpy the last 4 games wait until tomorrow night. Pretty sure Volquez is going and if he shuts down the Reds the game thread should be a real treat haha.

Folks, Mike Leake is going to be carrying a 2.58 ERA into August. Fancy that.

Another brilliant starting performance by the Reds.

I can't get over how good Leake has been.

They never should be split especially with Ludwick out. Bruce is better vs. lefties and Votto simply goes from MVP level to all-star level vs. lefties. It's actually quite absurd to position your lineup for a LOOGY rather than maximizing your 1-4 production night in and night out.

Votto on the basepaths is painful. That was a good play by Katsay, but still Joey looks 40 running the bases anymore.

I see it being one of those games where the Reds score a few runs in the first and then Volquez settles down for a few and Redszone explodes over it.

Also, while Mike Leake is obviously superior to Sean O'Sullivan, I like how almost nobody has commented on how inept/pathetic/adjective the Padres offense has looked tonight. It's almost like the Reds aren't the only team finding runs consistent offense hard to come by.

Walt isn't going to let all of Latos/Leake/Bailey slip away.

That being said, I think Leake is a prime candidate for an extension buying out a couple of FA years this offseason, depending on the signals Homer and Mat send.

This year Mike Leake has went 7 or more innings allowing 4 or fewer hits 7x

    Homer has done it 3
