Flyout to short left, and the Padres do not score.

Venable flies out to left. 0-0 after 1.

The pitcher bats to lead off the game? (See the difference? C'mon now young lady.)

The point of the matter is if Votto is going to bat with no one on base ... at least let him do so with no outs (instead of 2).

    Serious question:

Is Robinson/Frazier/Votto/Bruce/Paul/Mez/Cozart/Izturis really that much better than the actual lineup tonight?

Probably not. Shuffling deck chairs, lipstick on a pig, etc.

Hello all, good to see Leake getting out of trouble there.

If the guy batting in front of him is Leake, then yes. He's a better option than both Robinson and Izturis.

Man, the Padres must have the most boring uniforms in professional sports. They reall need to bring the brown & yellow back.

Ohhh you called me a lady! Good one!

For the record, D-Rob's .340 OBP is 2nd best in the lineup tonight. So if having him hit in front of Votto means Votto is hitting with nobody on, nobody is ever going to be on except for Votto.
