    One Last Game

This story has made the rounds in Cincinnati the last couple days, but for you non-locals, this is definitely worth sharing.

Unbelievable. Saw it on SportsCenter yesterday. What a story.

Lauren's playing career is over. She is embarking on a new career: coaching.

Its tragic how Lauren's life took this devastating turn. While she probably doesn't have the time left for a cure to be discovered, I have little doubt that her efforts will save the lives of people to come. Its is amazing that some people can live very short lives but touch so many people. Good for you Lauren.

I was flipping through SI's Sportsman issue and just thinking about how they missed out on two local stories, Lauren Hill and the Stills.

Prior to this year the only think I could tell you was that Devon Still had been an under performing DL on the Bengals. After this season I can tell you that Devon Still has raised so much awareness for Child cancer that his playing career will never touch that. I can tell you that Leah Still has been an example of someone being dealt a crappy hand who has become an encouragement for everyone. The awareness that Devon Still helped create has created hope for many kids stricken with cancer. When hope and encouragement can be vital to beating cancer, the Stills have done something that few can do.

They profiled the ALS challenge, how silly it seemed on the surface, but it pulled this nation together, and created a movement that led towards millions upon millions being raised to defeat a devastating disease. When you can get former Presidents, to media stars, to star athletes, to moguls, to everyday Americans taking part in some movement you have done good.

To all these people i Because they have done something great. They have done something that has transcended what many people ever do in their lives. And yes God works in mysterious ways.
