Jocketty did try to get DeRosa back around mid 2009 when the Cardinals landed him instead (giving up Chris Perez in the process).
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Funny, I've long though that Mark de Rosa at his peak was the best case scenario for what Frazier could become. Frazier made a believer out of me as a 3rd basemen this year, and I think his bat will eventually come around but it may take a removal from the situation for a while to get his head right. Even so, I still think this is a better team with Frazier on the bench as a 400 PA suspersub who gets PT at 3B, 1B, the OF and as the DH in AL Parks. I'd probably even give him a start or two at SS just to keep him in the mix.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

Sources: #BlueJays will not move DeRosa, who has been claimed on waivers. Team holds $750K option on him for next season.

Young has a no trade clause that he doesn't intend to waive for anybody but Texas and possibly NY/Boston. It's a moot point.

No. He's not an upgrade over Frazier. At least Frazier has a glove. Young should be barred from picking one up.

I take a flier on Mark Reynolds and hope we catch fire in a bottle for a couple weeks. He could go nuts in GABP against pitchers that havent seen much of him in a couple years.

Yes on Reynolds. Worth a shot with this bench.

Actually, might kill 3 birds. Young could be an ideal 2-hole hitter in this lineup. I would prefer him batting cleanup, actually, but you know Dusty isn't pulling BP out of that cleanup spot this year.

Choo, Young, Votto, Phillips, Bruce, Ludwick ... yes, please.
