    Is it really that shocking, though? I think there was a pretty decent chance the Twins might have just let him go on the waiver claim, since he's still due around $2.6 million from what I read in one article. Other than maybe the Yankees with their injury-related problems, I'm drawing a blank on which AL contenders need a 1B/DH type OPSing .739 even if they could get him for free, much less potentially being stuck with a $2.6 million tab.
