I love how Votto has a .209 average and .494 OBP.

And the clue in that is how carefully they are pitching him in those counts - he's not seeing ANYTHING to hit, so when he tries his success is low. They'd rather walk him.

Choo's numbers are cartoon-like on 3-2 counts, my goodness! SO glad he's a Red.

i like to know their averages since Jacoby has been here with men on 3rd or 2nd with 1 or 2 outs. They lead the ML in walks, but probably lead the ML in left in scoring position

The impressive thing is the number of times Choo and Votto got to the full count. Choo is 1st and Votto 5th in MLB. They know how to work the count.

This season the Reds have a line of .249/.355/.384 with runners in scoring position, which is good enough for 2nd in OPS, 5th in avg, 2nd in OBP, 5th in slg in the NL...St. Louis' numbers with runners in scoring position are absurd .337/.410./467/.877.

As the #2 team in OPS with runners in scoring position, the Reds are closer to last than they are to the Cards in that stat.

The team has left 835 runners on base which is the most in the NL.

Marty attributes 834 of those lost souls to Joey Votto's impotent bat.
